COVID-19 Prevention Plan

In order to prevent the spread of the epidemic caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19), we pay special attention to the strict observance of the following epidemiological rules during the operation of our camps:

1. During the operation of the camp, we shall take all possible measures to ensure the separation of the groups from each other. Our groups are small, we accept applications from a maximum of 12 children per group. Our sessions operate with 2 groups.

2. During the sessions we strive to maintain a protective distance of 1.5 meters. During common meals, we especially pay attention to maintaining the distance between the students.

3. During our sessions, we avoid activities that involve close personal contact.

4. In the case of indoor activities, in order to minimize the concentration of pathogens, we pay special attention to increased and continuous ventilation as a function of the weather.

5. Only healthy, asymptomatic students, and organizers under the age of 65, can take part in our camps. According to Decree 12/1991 on the health conditions of the holiday and camp of the student youth. (V. 18.) NM decree, we also request a statement.

6. During the operation of the camp, we pay special attention to personal hygiene as the most important means of preventing infection. That entails: frequent, thorough soapy hand washing, hand disinfection, avoidance of contact with the face, and adherence to cough etiquette.

7. Those arriving at the camp will receive detailed information on the basic rules of personal hygiene at the appropriate level for the given age group.

8. We take great care to ensure that all campers wash their hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizers upon arrival at the camp.

9. We pay special attention to the cleanliness of the camp area and carry out daily disinfection cleaning. During disinfectant cleaning, special care is taken to disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched by hands (such as door handles, railings, light switches, washbasin faucets, etc.) with an antiviral agent.

10. Toys, sports equipment and playground equipment used by campers are also disinfected with an antiviral agent.

11. In all cases, disinfectants must be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions for use in Hungarian, in the appropriate concentration and with the appropriate exposure time.

12. We provide protective equipment (rubber gloves, mouth mask) for cleaning workers.

13. We provide soap and hand washing facilities in the social rooms, which are supplemented with an antiviral hand disinfection facility. Children can use the hand sanitizer under adult supervision. A paper towel is provided for hand wiping.

14. Before and after meals, we pay special attention to washing children thoroughly with soap or hand disinfecting them.

15. During the camp we fully comply with the Decree 12/1991 on the health conditions of the holiday and camp of the student youth. (V. 18.) NM decree.

Why New Way
Summer Camp?

The New Way Summer Camp provides a fun and effective way for children to develop their English skills. The activities we designed will teach emotion-management skills and help our campers gain greater self-knowledge. Our brain-based activities use techniques to engage children’s critical and creative thinking skills while they have fun.

The New Way Camp programs are the SYNERGY of the HEAD and HEART.

At the New Way Camp We:

  • Help campers develop their English-speaking skills in an exclusively English-speaking environment.
  • Foster curiosity, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking through many games and creative exercises.
  • Cultivate empathy by arranging our classrooms in a circle to create an inclusive environment forming a community, promoting healthy dialogue, resolving conflict, and sharing ideas.

We want our campers to feel safe and nurtured in a fun environment designed for personal and social growth.

This is also an incredible opportunity for children between the ages of 8-14 to prepare for and get a sense of our UNIQUE Afterschool enrichment programs, which start in September 2020!

Opening hours

Active programs run from 8.30 to 17.15h

Will the children be leaving the Létra Campus at all during Camp Hours, and if so to where?

Camp takes place Monday-Friday on campus at the Létra Klub (1021 Budapest, Hűvösvölgyi út 18.), however every day we will be having lunch at Csüccs Bisztró (1026 Budapest, Riadó utca 5.)

Will the children be getting breakfast when they arrive and how many meals do they get a day?

We provide 3 meals a day. While breakfast is not included, we will have snacks at 11 am where we will be serving fruit and cereal bars. At 12:30 we have a 3 course meal for lunch and there will also be an additional snack time at 3 pm.

Will siblings be in separate groups?

Our groups are divided by English speaking ability and age group. Based on parents requests we will try to do our best to meet the needs of our campers and their families, however, please take into consideration that we have small group sizes and limited space. It should be noted that at lunchtime, all groups eat together.

Will campers be allowed to speak Hungarian in the conversational ENG groups?

At New Way, we emphasize only speaking in English because we want our students to have a fully immersive experience in the English language. However, if there is a problem or emergency, our staff is fully fluent in Hungarian and will be able to help/assist.

How will New Way ensure the social distancing measures?

We take the health of our students, faculty, and community very seriously. We have ensured that we have enough space for each child and staff member to be able to keep the proper social distance. We ensure that all hygiene requirements are met, emphasizing hand washing and proper COVID-19 sanitary precautions. For more information, please read our COVID-19 PREVENTION PLAN on our website.

Is New Way summer camp’s program focused on gifted and talented education?

New Way Summer Camp is an advanced program that is for highly motivated, driven, talented, independent students who want to achieve more in their personal and academic life. Our objective for this camp is to prepare our young entrepreneurs for our Afterschool Program, which is for gifted and talented students. Teamwork and collaboration are skills that we place at the forefront of our learning, as students will need those skills to prepare their passion projects in conversational English that showcase the knowledge they have acquired. Therefore, New Way requires a screening process to ensure that each student/group has the best learning experience. We expect our students to put their full effort into their assignments and projects and excel at them.

What is the added value of entering my child to New Way for 4-years?

At New Way, we have created an organic community that allows our young entrepreneurs to become the best version of themselves as individuals and also as team-members. Our curriculum builds on itself. Our lessons are progressive. The structure we have in place is based on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curricula and Project-based learning (PBL) to prepare our students emotionally and academically for the rigors of high school so that they have the tools to perform to the best of their ability. We see the potential in every pre-teen and early teen and wish to support them in as many ways as we can. We are passionate change-leaders and every one of our students has the ability to be the best that they can be. Our mentorship and personalized attention is special and unique. It creates a lifelong bond and connection that our young entrepreneurs will always have. We see the magic in everyone and our goal is to guide our students and let them shine.
